Music Ministry
The music ministry of the Church is fundamental to vibrant Christian worship. Liturgical music offered as a gift to God and community, intends to assist the people of God to express and share the gift of faith that is within them and to strengthen this faith in meaningful worship. Those wishing to join the music ministry have several options.
Instrumental Music: Music is generally provided at most weekend Masses. Organ, flute and guitar provide instrumental song. Anyone having any instrumental gift is encouraged to consider joining.
Choir: St. John of God Choir is composed of dedicated men and women whose goal is to add beauty and solemnity to the liturgy and to assist the congregation in praising God in song. The choir sings for solemn feasts and at one or two weekend liturgies each month.
Practice: Thursday – 6:30 P.M.
The Leader of Song (Cantor): A Cantor is an individual singer who leads the congregation in musical worship. Additional Cantors are needed; practice is arranged individually.
